In 2006, Blake Mycoskie was travelling through a village in Argentina where he found the local children had no shoes to protect their feet. In an effort to improve the lives of those children, Blake created TOMS, who would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One™. Blake was “overwhelmed by the spirit of the South American people, especially those who had so little” and he was instantly struck with the desire to something to help.

What started as a company on a mission to improve lives has become a movement. Realising this movement could serve other basic needs, TOMS Eyewear was launched and with every pair purchased, TOMS will help give sight to a person in need.

This is a remarkable human story.
